Don't miss this opportunity next month to share your career stories or those within your business with up to 1000 students.
Donald’s Farm and NZ Young Farmers are running a careers event for Auckland for school students in November and we think the students would love to hear about your job.
The event is taking place at Donald’s Farm in Whitford from 17 November to 28 November; if you can join us to talk about your job for one day (or half a day) that would be great.
This is voluntary and part of a wider programme, Inspiring the Future, which aims to broaden young people’s career horizons and challenge stereotypes that can hold them back.
Inspiring the Future, the crew at Donald’s Farm and New Zealand Young Farmers have teamed up to bring 1,000 students to the farm to learn about career opportunities in the food and fibre sectors. Students will also take part in other interactive activities.
How does it work?
Each careers session is 1 hour 15 long and there are 3 per day. There will be 30-35 students per session.
Format:
• 10 questions: Students ask questions to try and guess each role model’s job.
• The reveal: Each role model reveals their job, alongside a prop that represents it.
• Discussion groups: Students break into smaller groups to ask role models questions and learn more about their stories.
