About AMA

AMA is a small, industry-led national organisation with a big impact. We are not a chamber of commerce or government agency. We are a connector and facilitator—practical, nimble, and trusted. We help cut through the noise of a fragmented manufacturing ecosystem, enabling manufacturers, government, and industry partners to work together, faster. Our focus is on outcomes, not ownership—getting more support into the hands of manufacturers when and where it’s needed.

Vision

What success looks like:
A measurable lift in New Zealand manufacturing productivity and global competitiveness—achieved through stronger industry collaboration, smart investment in process innovation, and increased export success. AMA is nationally recognised as the sector’s trusted connector and catalyst for action.

Purpose

Why we exist:
To help New Zealand’s manufacturing sector realise its full potential—by bridging gaps across the ecosystem, sparking collaboration, and connecting the right people and programmes at the right time. While we advocate for sector success, our purpose is grounded in support, not politics.

Mission

How we get there:
We enable progress—not by competing with existing bodies—but by working alongside them to connect manufacturers with the knowledge, networks, funding, and government opportunities they need to thrive. Our job is to make it easier for others to do theirs, and to help manufacturers move faster, with more impact.
